Abstract
A prevalência de doença crónica em idade pediátrica tem vindo a aumentar, estimando-se que existam cerca de oito mil crianças com doenças crónicas complexas em Portugal, condição que impõe profundas repercussões na dinâmica familiar. Quando a criança, pelas características específicas da doença, apresenta compromisso do seu autocuidado, torna-se, particularmente, importante o envolvimento e cooperação da família para suprir as necessidades da mesma. Neste sentido, emerge o conceito de Autocuidado Familiar, o qual reconhece a família como unidade corresponsável pela gestão da doença e pelo bem-estar familiar. O relatório, que ora se apresenta, teve um duplo propósito: analisar o crescimento académico e profissional alcançado durante todo o percurso formativo e avaliar o impacto do projeto “Promoção do Autocuidado Familiar: Famílias com Filhos com Doença Crónica”. Recorrendo a um estudo de caso exploratório com duas famílias, que alicerçado no Modelo Calgary de Avaliação e Intervenção Familiar, analisou forças e necessidades, permitindo formular diagnósticos e delinear intervenções adequadas a cada família. Os resultados revelaram aumento da literacia em saúde, partilha mais equitativa de papéis e maior autoconfiança parental. Concluiu-se que a intervenção do Enfermeiro de Família, ao potenciar o autocuidado e o empoderamento, pode mitigar o impacto da doença crónica e transformar uma experiência potencialmente desorganizadora numa oportunidade de crescimento para todo o sistema familiar.
