Abstract
RÉSUMÉ En France, le face-à-face entre l’histoire politique et l’histoire culturelle a été stimulant, débouchant sur une imprégnation des problématiques culturelles dans la recherche sur l’histoire politique contemporaine, avec l’émergence d’un champ qui pourrait être caractérisé comme une « histoire culturelle du politique ». Cet article se propose d’en faire un bref état des lieux, avant d’évaluer ce que ces nouvelles orientations ont apporté à nos connaissances : notamment, une meilleure compréhension du poids de la sensibilité, et du caractère complexe des identités collectives. L’histoire culturelle a également permis de rendre une densité diachronique à une histoire politique qui, en France, est trop souvent captive de l’événementialisme.
