Abstract
This article examines the nature and relevance of philosophical discourse in a context shaped by the imperative of knowledge mobilization and utilitarian assessment. By demarcating philosophy from science and the fine arts, it identifies philosophy's distinctive resources, namely a specific form of critical reflexivity and a particular kind of conceptual creativity. Moving beyond a mere listing of its dimensions, the article advances a central thesis: the contemporary relevance of philosophy arises from the dynamic and productive tension it sustains between conceptual activity, critical examination, and normative orientation. Far from being a weakness, this internal tension makes philosophy an indispensable operator of distinction and the reflexive condition of any knowledge mobilization that claims to question its own ends. Philosophy thus asserts its relevance not through utilitarian transfer, but through its capacity to keep open, within knowledge itself, the space for radical questioning of meaning and implications.
