Abstract
Kina generelt. Kina er med et landareal på 9.562.911 km2 verdens tredjestørste land, næst efter Rusland og Canada. Det grænser op til Nordkorea i nordøst, Rusland og Mongoliet i nord, Kasakhstan, Kirgisistan, Tadjikistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Indien, Nepal og Bhutan i nordvest og vest, og Myanmar, Laos og Vietnam i syd. Landet er inddelt i 31 provinser, der mht befolkningsmæssige størrelse og økonomi kan sammenlignes med nationer i andre dele af verden. Kina er på linje med oldtidens Egypten og Mesopotamien en af verdens oprindelige højkulturer, der blomstrede økonomisk og kulturelt på et tidligt tidspunkt i verdenscivilisationernes historie.
