Abstract
A través de la biografía de Ibn 'Abbas, secretario de Zuhayr, señor de Almería, este artículo trata de describir el esfuerzo llevado a cabo por el grupo de antiguos mawali 'amiríes de origen eslavo para influir el curso de los acontecimientos en el Levante andalusí a principios de época taifa. La muerte de Ibn 'Abbas, uno de los instigadores de dicha política agresiva respecto a otras Taifas coincide así, simbólicamente, con el fracaso de este esfuerzo y el fin de un ciclo histórico abierto por la regencia 'amirí.
