Abstract
El proyecto consistió en realizar una evaluación del método de pintura en la cola en tres hatos: En Cundinamarca, Finca Santa María del Puyón UNISALLE, Finca Los Venados, y en Boyacá, Finca La Cañada especializadas en la explotación de cría y/o lechería. Se utilizaron totalmente al azar un total de 90 vacas, establecidos en dos grupos 15 vacas sometidas al tratamiento de pintura en la cola vs 15 vacas como grupo testigo, en igualdad de condiciones en cada una de las fincas. Para el grupo de animales con pintura en la cola (tratamiento 1) se obtuvieron porcentajes de detección de calores del 62,2% en la Finca los Venados, 57,8 en La Finca Santa María del Puyón y 75,6% en la Finca la cañada, Vs los animales sin pintura en la cola (tratamiento 2) 28,9% en la Hacienda los Venados, 37,8% CIC y 62,2% Hacienda La Cañada.
