Abstract
Bu çalışma, Özel Harekat Polislerine uygulanan solunum kontrollü gevşeme egzersizlerinin ağrı, uyku kalitesi ve stres üzerine olan etkilerini incelemek amacıyla yapıldı. Çalışmaya, 20 – 60 yaş aralığındaki 57 erkek birey dahil edildi. Bireyler egzersiz (n=27) ve kontrol (n=27) olmak üzere iki gruba ayrıldı. Kontrol grubuna sadece solunum kontrollü gevşeme egzersizleri hakkında bilgi verildi ve herhangi bir müdahalede bulunulmadı. Egzersiz grubuna haftada 2 gün 6 hafta süreyle fizyoterapist eşliğinde solunum kontrollü gevşeme egzersizleri uygulandı. Bireyler ağrı, uyku kalitesi ve stres açısından değerlendirildi. Ağrıyı değerlendirmek için Vizuel Analog Skala (VAS) ve Mcgill Ağrı Ölçeği (MPQ), uyku kalitesini değerlendirmek için Pittsburgh Uyku Kalite İndeksi (PUKİ), stresi değerlendirmek için ise Beck Depresyon Ölçeği (BDÖ) kullanıldı. Değerlendirmeler çalışma öncesi ve çalışma sonrası olmak üzere tüm bireylere iki kez yapıldı. Çalışma sonucunda egzersiz grubunun ilk ve son değerlendirmeleri karşılaştırıldığında ağrının azaldığı, uyku kalitesinin arttığı ve stresin azaldığı gözlendi (p<0,05). Kontrol grubunun ilk ve son değerlendirmeleri karşılaştırıldığında ağrıda artma, uyku kalitesinde azalma ve stres düzeyinde artma gözlendi. Gruplar arası VAS, MPQ, PUKİ ve BDÖ değerlerinde egzersiz grubu lehine anlamlı bir azalma bulundu (p<0,05). Ağrının bölgelere göre varlığına baktığımızda en fazla ağrının bel bölgesinde olduğu gözlemlendi (%63,0). Sonuç olarak solunum kontrollü gevşeme egzersizlerinin Özel Harekat Polisleri'nde ağrıyı azalttığı, uyku kalitesini arttırdığı ve stres düzeyini azalttığı görüldü (p<0,05). Bu çalışma ile Özel Harekat Polisleri'nde solunum kontrollü gevşeme egzersizlerinin personel eğitimine eklenmesinin faydalı olacağı belirlendi. Özel Harekat Polislerinde ağrı açısından geniş kapsamlı çalışmaların olması ve özellikle bel ağrısına yönelik araştırmaların yapılması gerektiği görüşündeyiz.
