Abstract
Based on the study of the practice of implementing the constitution, the existence of a model of its “living” implementation as a system of legal means for adapting the content of constitutional norms to new or transformed social relations is substantiated. Its features, determined by the specifics of the legal systems of states and the traditions of their constitutional construction, are identified: a) evolution of the constitutional norms during their direct implementation, universalized by the precedents of the highest courts (USA, Canada); b) adaptation of the constitutional provisions to transformed social relations by laws and program-targeted acts of the highest authorities (India, states of the continental legal family, the Russian Federation).
