Average-Value Modeling of Shipboard Power Systems with Switching Converters Considering Losses
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Voltage-source converters (VSCs) are extensively used in marine power systems. Detailed switching models of these VSCs offer accurate but computationally expensive simulations. Thus, average-value models (AVMs) of VSCs have been developed for fast and efficient simulations in electromagnetic transient (EMT) software. Conventional AVMs, however, fail to consider power losses and their effects on voltage drop across the semiconductor switches. This paper extends recently developed socalled lossy AVMs (LAVMs), which parametrically represent losses in AVMs of VSCs, as well as voltage drop due to the ONstate resistance of switches. The advantages of a fully averagevalue modeled system are demonstrated on a simplified shipboard power system. The proposed LAVMs offer accurate simulation results owing to realistic converter power balances, as well as significant improvements in computational speed compared to the detailed switching model.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
