Abstract
The four indicators “Access to” education, healthcare, water, energy, supplied to the inhabitants of the North Tanganyika Countries allow you to better understand the level of their living conditions. Education is the focus of enormous efforts by the governments in each of the North Tanganyika Countries, especially at the Primary level. It will take time for them to bear tangible fruit. Health is also a major concern. There exists a network of health facilities, but with staff, equipment and medicine shortages. Life expectancy is affected by these handicaps. Water, an abundant resource in the Countries of North Tanganyika, rarely complies with current health standards. The remoteness of the water points and the difficulties of the compliance with the requirements are impacting on the lives of the inhabitants. The electric power is a scarce commodity except in cities. Even more than for drinking water, the establishment of networks faces barriers in the scattering of habitat and the high cost of kWh. Also, most of the inhabitants of the North Tanganyika Countries have no access to electric light; the use of solar energy should be expected to remove this handicap.
