RésuméLe présent article vise à mettre en évidence la diversité des modalités d’anticipation utilisées par les acteurs décisionnels (les élus) pour assurer l’aménagement des territoires dont ils ont charge de gestion. En France, la loi relative à la solidarité et au renouvellement urbain de décembre 2000 instaure deux outils de gestion ; les Schémas de cohérence territorial ( scot) et les Plans locaux d’urbanisme ( plu) ainsi qu’une méthode qui consiste à mettre en place différentes phases de concertation entre acteurs. L’étude menée sur la base d’entretiens qualitatifs auprès d’élus, d’agriculteurs et d’administratifs, associés à des récits de vie prenant en compte les histoires locales et la consultation de documents d’urbanisme permet de mettre en évidence de réelles différences entre collectivités territoriales quant à l’application de la législation en vigueur. Cette diversité offre en retour l’occasion de s’interroger sur la façon dont les acteurs en présence conçoivent l’information, la concertation et la négociation.
