Abstract
How many same sex couples are there in Australia? Recent press reports deriving from a study of Australia’s regions indicated that the proportion of such couples to all couples was higher in Melbourne than Sydney and higher in both these cities than in San Francisco. The reverse is actually the case. The reasons for the confusion and the relevance of same-sex couples for regional planning are explored in this article. Copyright. Monash University and the author/s
