Abstract
Pese a estar ubicada al norte del paralelo 42°, la ciudad rionegrina de San Antonio Oeste vivió la guerra de Malvinas de una manera particular: incluida dentro del Teatro de Operaciones Sur y en tanto último punto de arribo de los trenes en el litoral norpatagónico, se convirtió en asiento de la Primera sección de abastecimiento, grupo dedicado a brindar atención a cientos de soldados que por allí pasaron con destino a las bases continentales del sur y a Malvinas. Poco se conoce sobre este rol de San Antonio y la experiencia de los soldados que ahí se establecieron. Ante tal vacancia, y valiéndonos de los aportes de la historia sociocultural de la guerra, la historia regional y la historia reciente, nos proponemos reconstruir y analizar las perspectivas y experiencias de los soldados conscriptos de la Primera sección de abastecimiento y de vecinos de San Antonio Oeste durante la contienda. El corpus documental se compone de documentación gubernamental y militar, entrevistas a vecinos y soldados asentados, quienes brindaron su testimonio y sus archivos personales.
