Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

A dispersion-tuned mode-locked optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) is demonstrated for the first time. A flat and highly chirped microwave photonic filter with a large bandwidth within the OEO, which is essential for dispersion tuning, is realized by employing a sliced amplified spontaneous emission (ASE) source and a 1.1 km dispersion-compensating fiber (DCF). A recirculating loop is introduced to ensure single-mode oscillation when the OEO operates in the free-running state. In the mode-locked state, as the modulation frequency is swept from 10.3042 MHz to 10.3122 MHz, corresponding to approximately 58-order harmonic mode-locking, the OEO output frequency exhibits discrete tuning from 4.08 GHz to 5.08 GHz, with a total of four distinct frequency steps. This demonstration opens up a new approach to frequency control in OEOs.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
