Abstract
Cet article dresse le bilan de dix ans de jurisprudence rendue par la Cour européenne des droits de l'homme en matière d'emprisonnement à perpétuité. L'emprisonnement perpétuel a fait l'objet de très nombreuses décisions, lesquelles se doivent d'être analysées pour comprendre les critères retenus par la Haute Cour. L'article dresse finalement les enseignements, constatant un important problème de fond parfois tempéré par une procédure justement appréhendée.
