Der Künstlertext ist eine Dokumentation des Entstehungsprozesses einer neuen Arbeit von William Engelen. Als „Vorspeise“ zeigt sie Material, also Tonaufnahmen aus Restaurants, Kneipen und Cafés in Halifax, die der Künstler über 10 Tage im Oktober 2012 angefertigt hat. Sie dokumentieren Restaurant-Umgebungsklang in Laufweite der kanadischen Innenstadt und machen diese Soundscapes damit vergleichbar. Das „Hauptgericht“ wird eine künstlerische Arbeit für das Centre for Art Tapes in Halifax, die noch im Entstehen begriffen ist.
