Abstract
les taux de suicide au Canada parmi les autochtones sont très élevés comme dans plusieurs pays. Nous savons que les peuples des Premières Nations canadiennes ont perdu leur identité culturelle et que cela pourrait être une des causes. Cet article essaie de brosser un tableau général de ce phénomène complexe et d’élucider les liens qui peuvent exister entre perte d’identité cultutelle et suicide. Il aborde les facteurs de risque et propose, à titre d’exemple, des solutions thérapeutiques qui pourraient être suggérées. Ce phénomène reste encore mal compris et complexe et nécessitera plus d’études. La diminution des taux de suicide pourrait arriver à long terme si les moyens thérapeutiques et économiques des peuples Autochtones s’améliorent
