Abstract
Turizam, kao ključni ekonomski sektor, donosi brojne koristi, ali i izazove. Posebno je izražen paradoks prekomjernog turizma, koji značajno može utjecati na kvalitetu života lokalnog stanovništva, kulturnu i povijesnu baštinu, te prirodne resurse. Ovaj rad se bavi analizom percepcije lokalnog stanovništva grada Splita o prekomjernom turizmu. Istraživanje je provedeno putem anketnog upitnika postavljajući pitanja i konstatacija koji su usmjereni na predodžbu i stavove lokalnog stanovništva o ključnim elementima na koje turizam ostavlja najznačajnije posljedice. Istraživanje je istaknulo važnost razvoja i provedbi politika usmjerenih ka očuvanju socio-kulturnih, ekonomskih i okolišnih aspekata, ako u ključnom potrebom za uključivanje lokalnog stanovništva u donošenje odluka.
