Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Environmental psychology is the study of how we, as individuals and as part of groups, interact with our physical settings — how we experience and change the environment, and how our behaviour and experiences are changed by the environment. Environmental psychologists: seek to improve our stewardship of natural resources and help mitigate climate change, including how best to adapt to it; understand how to increase the habitability of the built environment; study everyday settings in relation to human attitudes, emotions, and behaviours; recognize that we actively cope with, and shape, environments; we do not passively respond to environmental forces; and, work in conjunction with other disciplines. This chapter, part of a handbook for careers in applied psychology, describes the field of environmental psychology, outlines some career paths available in the field, and provides an overview of the educational requirements for these careers.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
