Abstract
Introduction Periprosthetic femoral fracture (PFF) is a rare complication after hip arthroplasty, which is challenging to treat. Case presentation This study presents a case of PFF. An 80-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital with pain and restricted movement in her right leg. The patient underwent total hip arthroplasty (THA) at the age of 55 and later presented with sudden pain in her right leg while walking, resulting in a fall. She was then admitted to the hospital where an X-ray of her right lower limb was taken, showing a subtrochanteric and distal right femur fracture. The PFF was classified as Vancouver B3, requiring prosthetic replacement. Additionally, the fracture was fixed using NCB periprosthetic distal femur plate.
