Türkiye’deki tarihi yapıların büyük bir bölümünü Osmanlı camive minareleri oluşturmaktadır. Bu yüzden tarihi minarelerin mevcut durumunundeğerlendirilmesi ve olası depremlere karşı korunması oldukça önemlidir. Doğrubir değerlendirmenin yapılabilmesi için öncellikle minarenin dinamiközelliklerinin belirlenmesi gerekmektedir. Araştırmanın birinci bölümünde;deneysel ve sayısal metotlar kullanılarak Bursa’da yer alan öncellikle yedidaha sonra on sekiz tarihi minarenin dinamik karakteristiği ve yapısal özellikleriincelenmiştir. Diğer yapılarda olduğu gibi minarelerin dinamikkarakteristiklerinin arasında en önemli parametre yapının hâkim periyotudur. Anadolu’daçok sayıda tarihi minare olduğu da düşünülerek bu periyotun hızlıcahesaplanabilmesi için pratik metotlar araştırılması gerekliliği açıktır. Bunedenle araştırmanın ikinci bölümünde; dinamik davranış ile yapısal özellikleriarasındaki ilişkinin yorumlanarak minarenin hâkim periyotunu belirlemek içinampirik formüller türetilmiştir.
