Abstract
The main objective of International Violence Against Women Survey (IVAWS) is to gain quality information about violence against women in more than 20 countries. Concept of the project is outcome of cooperation between NICRI (United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute), HEUNI (European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control) a Statistics Canada. UNICRI a HEUNI are members of the network United Nations Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Programme. The project is co-ordinated by members of International Project Team. Participation of Czech republic was supported by grant from the Grant Agency of the Academy of Sciences of the CR in 2003 and 2004.
