Abstract
Kanada je jedna od tradicionalnih imigracijskih zemalja. Od 1867. godine značajna pažnja posvećena je imigracijskoj politici. Mnoga ograničenja implementirana su kroz zakone. Priljev različitih etničkih grupa, posebno tzv. vidljivih manjina, dopušten je tek od 1960-ih godina. Imigracija je utjecala na demografsku, kulturno - antropološku i društveno - gospodarsku strukturu kanadske populacije. Najveći udio imigranata pristiglih svake godine pripada dobnoj skupini od 20 do 40 godina, a od 1992. imigrira više žena naspram muškaraca. Imigracija utječe i na etničku, jezičnu i religijsku raznolikost Kanade. Konačno, imigranti danas kvalificiraniji su od onih iz prošlog stoljeća. Sve važnija imigracija postaje za populacijski rast stanovništva Kanade.
