Roman, koji je svoje zasluženo mjesto u književnosti dobio tek u drugoj polovici osamnaestog stoljeća, kada je postao dominantan žanr i zasjenio pjesništvo koje se kroz dugi period u književnosti jedino smatralo književnošću, tema je ovog rada. Analiza romana vršit će se na predlošku romana Stranac Alberta Camusa. Analiza započinje tematiziranjem same priče i romana općenito, problema njegova precizna definiranja, a potom se prelazi na dublju razradu romana, njegova plana izraza i plana sadržaja. Govori se i o stvarnom i izmišljenom svijetu kao problemu koji se u romanu javlja, a završava upitom i pokušajem odgovora na pitanje zašto uopće čitamo roman.
