Abstract
XX. yüzyılın sonralarına doğru Sovyetler Birliği’nin dağılmasıyla on beş bağımsız cumhuriyet tarih sahnesine çıkmıştır. Bu cumhuriyetlerden bir tanesi de Kazakistan’dır. Hem Sovyet dönemi hem de bağımsız Kazakistan’a baktığımızda ise karşımıza çıkan en önemli isimlerden biri şüphesiz ki Nursultan Nazarbayev’dir. 1984 yılından itibaren ülkesinin en yetkili pozisyonlarında görev almaya başlayan Nazarbayev; 1 Aralık 1991 tarihinde seçildiği cumhurbaşkanlığı vazifesini, istifa kararını açıkladığı 2019 yılına kadar sürdürmüştür. Kurucu lider sıfatıyla uzun yıllar yönettiği ülkesinde ekonomik, siyasi, sosyal, kültürel ve diğer pek çok alanda yenilikler gerçekleştirerek Kazakistan’ı Post-Sovyet coğrafyada ve küresel siyasette önemli bir noktaya taşımıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı Kazakistan’ın kurucu liderini Nursultan Nazarbayev’in çocukluğundan başlayarak ailesini, eğitimini siyasi kariyerinin başlangıcı ve gelişimini yakından tanıyarak; Kazakistan’ın bağımsızlığı sonrası hayata geçirdiği reformları, ülkesinin dönüşümü yolunda attığı adımları, dış politika perspektifini, fikirlerini ve Türk dünyasına yönelik entegrasyon girişimlerini anlatmaktır
