Abstract
ABSTRACT Short track speed skating is a winter Olympic sport, included in the program of the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics with one individual distance and one relay for women and men. Since then, the program of this sport has expanded and now has eight distances (total for women and men). The aim of the study is to identify some trends in the development of the Olympic disciplines of short track women skaters, by systematization of the sport results for the period 1992 – 2018 years. Results. At the distance of 500 m we can define China as the leading country, and at the 1000 m, 1500 m and 3000 m relay – South Korea. From all the distances held at the last eight OWGs, we have identified three leading countries – South Korea, China and Canada.
