Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) have been increasingly used in data centers and cloud computing to accelerate large scale workloads like machine learning (ML). The state-of-the-art works focused on abstracting the FPGAs in the cloud tohelp developers deploy their applications without worrying about the communications between the heterogeneous devices. AMD has recently introduced new hardened engines, the AI Engines, on their Versal FPGAs to accelerate AI applications. In this thesis, we extend the Galapagos framework to support Versal boards with AI Engines. Additionally, we introduce a connection layer between the Galapagos kernels and the AI Engines, and deploy the layers of an I-BERT encoder on the AI Engines of the modified framework.
