Why this work is in the frame

A frame that forgets how it found something cannot be audited. These are the routes that admitted this work.

aboutThe title or abstract carries a Canadian signal from the geographic lexicon.

No Canadian affiliation. An affiliation-only frame, the usual design, would never have seen this work. It is one of the works that make the case for inverting the frame.

Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

A continuous flow bioassay system was designed and constructed at a northwestern Ontario integrated pulp and paper mill. This system was employed to determine whether anal fin modification of mosquitofish (Gambusia afinis afinis ) would result from exposure to treated mill effluents. No effects on males or females were observed after exposure to 15% or 100% effluents for five months. Females exposed to control hormones did exhibit some effects. The loading and variability of chemical oxygen demand (COD), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD5), colour, total suspended solids (TSS), resin and fatty acids (RFAs), and sterols was determined for more than sixty untreated process effluents and treated effluents over a five month period. Major contributors to effluent loading were the effluent from power boiler wet sluicing and the effluents related to the kraft bleaching. A toluene reflux extraction method demonstrated an improved recovery of sterols versus a methyl-tert -butyl ether extraction.

Direct model labels (unvalidated)

Per-model category and study-design labels from the labeling rounds. They are machine output, unvalidated, and the disagreement between models ships as data. No study design here is MEDLINE-validated yet.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
