Abstract
Created less than five years ago, the Carrefour francophone du savoir et de l’innovation brings together over thirty Francophone organizations, which are to be integrated in the Université de l’Ontario français’s academic mission. Some of these organizations are dedicated to supporting the settlement of newcomers, including international students, while others cater to the needs of the Francophone population at large. This research’s objective is to understand: 1) How do the Carrefour partner organizations (individually/currently) contribute to francophone newcomer recruitment, settlement, integration/inclusion, and retention while balancing the needs of various stakeholders? 2) What are the perceived benefits, challenges, requirements, and potential strategies for these partner organizations to engage in collective action to contribute to francophone immigration in Ontario? 3) In what ways do these francophone organizations contribute to and promote an inclusive Franco-Ontarian community, and what challenges must be addressed to achieve this goal?
