Abstract
The objective of this study is to investigate the effects of different inception, growth, coagulation and oxidation source terms in a semi-empirical soot model. Numerical solutions for the fluid flow, turbulence parameters, and species concentrations are obtained on the basis of the flamelet concept and a modified k-ϵ turbulence model. Model predictions are compared with measurements. The simulation results show that the calculated temperature and mixture fraction distributions are in good agreement with available experiments. Predictions of the soot volume fraction are very sensitive to the modeling of the soot surface growth rate. The soot predictions agree well with measurements when the surface growth rate is assumed to be proportional to the square root of the surface area. Naphthalene rate inception route exhibits better performance. Hydroxyl is the principle oxidative agent for soot. The optimal soot model can predict the soot formation in different turbulent ethylene jet flames.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
