Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Motherhood has been found to enhance performance on learning and memory tasks in the rodent and increases in the volumes of the CA1 and CA3 subfields of the hippocampus are evident in lactating rats when compared to pregnant rats. The present study investigated the effect of parity on dendritic morphology in the CA1 and CA3 hippocampal regions. Female Sprague Dawley rats who were multiparous (n = 8), primiparous (n = 7), and nulliparous (n = 7) were perfused 24–31 days after parturition and their brains stained with the Golgi impregnation technique. Camera lucida drawings were made for six CA1 and CA3 pyramidal cells in each animal. Results show that primiparous rats have significant dendritic atrophy in CA3 and CA1 pyramidal cells when compared to multiparous and nulliparous rats. This is the first demonstration that parity exposure has differential effects on dendritic morphology of CA1 and CA3 pyramidal cells.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
