Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Providing precise attitude and positional information for microsatellites in low Earth orbit is critical to missions requiring geolocated payload measurements. To enable the reliable function of sensors in a DEFIANT satellite’s attitude & orbit control subsystem while remaining cost-effective, efficient electrical and computer system design is explored and tested to enable precise operation in a low Earth orbit environment. Successful spacecraft pointing is accomplished through the development of flight-level firmware, performance characterisation, and qualification of an angular rate sensor. The thesis then presents the design of high-speed support electronics that through reliable timing and high-speed communication enable the use of a global navigation satellite system receiver to generate information of the satellite’s position. The designed hardware’s low cost, and fast development promotes accessibility to constellation-based smallsat missions with the discussed hardware slated to be demonstrated on orbit in 2024.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
