Abstract
L’omble chevalier du lac Ikaluit est récolté en vertu de divers permis depuis 1977 et plus récemment, dans le cadre d’un permis de pêche exploratoire de stade II depuis 2006. Historiquement, la pêche était pratiquée pendant les mois d’hiver sur le lac Ikaluit. Plus récemment, elle a eu lieu pendant les mois d’été dans le bras de mer Robert Peel. Les communautés de Pangnirtung et d’Iqaluit dépendent fortement du stock d’omble chevalier du lac Ikaluit pour leur subsistance. Les résultats de cette évaluation indiquent qu’en dépit de la pression de la pêche, ce stock semble stable. Une récolte à un taux de 5 % du stock permanent, qui est d’environ 1 000 kg, permettra de maintenir le stock à un niveau durable. • Compte tenu de la pression de la subsistance, il est recommandé de faire un suivi annuel du stock pour obtenir des informations sur la biologie et l’effort de capture.
