Abstract
Ce rapport offre un aperçu des résultats d'un examen de dossiers pour les enquêtes des coroners et médecins légistes des personnes décédées en raison d'une toxicité aiguë liée aux substances au Canada entre le 1er janvier 2016 et le 31 décembre 2017. C'est la première fois qu'une telle étude a été menée au niveau national au Canada. Les caractéristiques sociodémographiques et socio-économiques des personnes décédées, les substances concernées et les circonstances entourant chaque cas de toxicité aiguë et chaque décès ont été examinées par sexe et par mode de décès. Les résultats entre ce rapport et d'autres rapports, comme ceux des provinces et des territoires, peuvent varier à cause de différences dans la définition des cas, la méthodologie, les sources de données disponibles et/ou l'analyse.
