Dans l’estuaire et le golfe du Saint-Laurent, quatre unités d’évaluation sont considérées depuis 1993 pour l’évaluation des stocks de crevette nordique, soit Estuaire, Sept-Îles, Anticosti et Esquiman. Ces unités d’évaluation des stocks correspondent aux endroits où des concentrations élevées de crevette sont généralement observées pendant le relevé de recherche. Des informations sur l’abondance et la distribution de l’effort de pêche à la crevette nordique des dernières décennies suggèrent qu’une modification des unités d’évaluation des stocks dans l’estuaire et le nord du golfe du Saint-Laurent est nécessaire. Un changement des délimitations des unités d’évaluation des stocks est proposé et appuyé par la génomique des populations. Les indicateurs de ces stocks ont été mis à jour en fonction des unités d’évaluation proposées et représentent une meilleure adéquation entre les unités d’évaluation et les unités biologiques.
