Abstract
Le Comité sur la situation des espèces en péril au Canada (COSEPAC) a désigné le sucet de lac (Erimyzon sucetta) comme étant une espèce en voie de disparition au Canada. La modélisation de la population est présentée pour évaluer les impacts des dommages et déterminer les objectifs de rétablissement de l’abondance et de l’habitat à l’appui d’une évaluation du potentiel de rétablissement (EPR). La présente analyse a démontré que le sucet de lac était plus sensible aux perturbations à la survie des adultes. L’analyse de viabilité de la population a été utilisée pour déterminer les cibles potentielles de rétablissement. La viabilité de la population (c.-à-d. une population autosuffisante à long terme) peut être atteinte avec une population de 33 600 individus d’un an et plus selon une fréquence de catastrophe de 15 % par génération et une probabilité de persistance souhaitée de 99 % sur 100 ans. Une telle population nécessiterait 0,41 km2 d’habitat lacustre ou 0,12 km2 d’habitat riverain.
