Abstract
Nova Gradiška jedan je od mlađih gradova u Republici Hrvatskoj s bogatom poviješću i kulturom. Najveći porast broja stanovnika grada, a samim time i okolnih sela, dogodio se kada su izgrađene tvornice TANG, YUKON, Nektar i druge. Kao posljedica razvoja grada, pojavila se i potreba za zbrinjavanjem i čuvanjem djece građana što je dovelo do otvaranja vrtića. Ovim se radom nastoji kronološki prikazati i opisati nastajanje i razvoj vrtićkih institucija na gradiškom području. U radu se prikazuje povijest začetaka ranog i predškolskog odgoja na području Hrvatske s posebnim osvrtom na nekoliko najznačajnijih institucija osnovanih i namijenjenih za dječju skrb. Proučeni podatci za razvoj vrtićkih institucija razdvojeni su po desetljećima 20. stoljeća i 21. stoljeća. U radu se opisuju zanimljivosti vezane uz vrtićke ustanove, uvjete boravka djece, života odgojitelja i odgojiteljica te zapisi vezani uz tadašnja događanja na području Nove Gradiške i podružnica Dječjeg vrtića Nova Gradiška. U kratkim crtama prikazan je i razvoj vrtićkih institucija u naseljima Rešetari i Davor. Posebno su opisani najznačajniji projekti i aktivnosti koje se provode u sklopu Dječjeg vrtića Nova Gradiška. Rad sadrži fotografije za pedagoška razdoblja od početka rada vrtića i fotografije vrtićkih zgrada.
