Abstract
La Direction générale de la gestion des pêches de Pêches et Océans Canada (MPO) a demandé que le stock de saumon chinook de la côte ouest de l’île de Vancouver soit évalué par rapport à des points de référence conformes à l’approche de précaution du MPO, de manière à pouvoir fournir un avis sur les prises et à éclairer le plan de rétablissement pour ce stock. De plus, la Direction générale de la gestion des écosystèmes a demandé des renseignements pour évaluer le potentiel de rétablissement du stock. La présente réponse des Sciences découle de l’examen par les pairs régional du 29 avril au 3 mai 2024 sur l’Évaluation du stock de saumon chinook (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) de la côte ouest de l’île de Vancouver de 2024.
