Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

This document presents a Simulink model of a Thyristor Controlled Series Capacitor (TCSC) controller based single-machine infinite-bus (SMIB) power system. TCSC is a device utilized in power systems to improve the performance of transmission lines. It dynamically modifies the capacitive reactance of a transmission line, thereby enhancing power flow control, voltage regulation, and overall system stability. The model features both lead-lag and Proportional-IntegralDerivative (PID) configurations for the controller. The implementation of these controllers is thoroughly validated by subjecting the system to various disturbances. Additionally, a concise overview of the variable-structured controller of TCSC is provided, and the performance is physically tested under significant disturbances to evaluate its effectiveness in damping rotor angle oscillations. The simulation results demonstrate that the TCSC controller significantly reduces oscillations more quickly than scenarios where the controllers are not present in the power system, even when faced with different types of disturbances.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
