Abstract
The review article deals with two new historical works – by religion anti-Zionist Yakov M. Rabkin from Canada and secular post-Zionist Shlomo Sand from Israel. Both editions are strongly critical toward Zionism and the State of Israel’s policy. Yakov M. Rabkin critics Zionists and Israel authority, on the orthodox Jews’ positions, because Zionism is secular movement, which contradict with traditional Judaism and has military character. Shlomo Sand critics the Jewish national, especially Zionist, historiography for constructing eternal ethnic community of “Jewish people” and the State of Israel’s anti-democracy policy of “liberal ethnocracy”. Both works are compared in the review’s conclusion as the investigations in historical origins of contemporary the State of Israel’s problems and the Middle East conflict.
