The article is devoted to the image of Peter the Great as a Christian monarch during the years of his reform activity. The author considers the sources of official origin — the works of Theophan Prokopovich and P. Shafirov. The conclusion is made about the main characteristics of Peter the Great as a Christian monarch and his connection with the sacralization of monarchs in Russia.
