Le bassin d’Athabasca (Canada) abrite des gisements d’uranium associés à des structures graphiteuses et à des halos d’altération, localisés à la discordance entre les sédiments et le socle métamorphique. Les méthodes électromagnétiques (EM) et électriques en courant continu (DC), sensibles à la conductivité électrique, sont traditionnellement inversées séparément, limitant la distinction entre conducteurs graphiteux et altération. Cette étude évalue l’apport de l’inversion jointe EM-DC pour la modélisation de ces objets. Une première phase, basée sur des modèles synthétiques 2D, démontre que l’inversion jointe permet de réconcilier les jeux de données EM et DC, et permettrait de diminuer l’ambiguïté sur la présence d’altération. L’application de cette méthode à des données de terrain acquises sur la propriété de Cigar Lake confirme l’intérêt de l’inversion jointe, avec des structures conductrices cohérentes avec les observations de forage, et un modèle réconciliant l’ensemble des données EM et DC. Nous présentons également une extension de la méthodologie à l’inversion 3D, testée sur des cas synthétiques et des données de terrain, et permettant de mettre en évidence les orientations des conducteurs graphiteux. Enfin, l’utilisation des composantes X et Z du champ EM, présentant le plus fort signal, permet de mieux délimiter les conducteurs. Ces résultats contribuent au renouvellement des méthodes d’exploration des gisements d’uranium du bassin d’Athabasca. De nouvelles perspectives peuvent être envisagées pour maximiser l’apport de l’inversion jointe EM-DC 3D, notamment la conception de dispositifs d’acquisition et l’ajout d’autres jeux de données sensibles à la conductivité électrique et complémentaires.
