Aquest treball de recerca se centra en l’anàlisi crítica del material d’arxiu relatiu a les Texas Houses de John Hejduk, una sèrie projectual concebuda entre 1954 i 1962 que ocupa un lloc clau en l’evolució teòrica i pedagògica de l’arquitecte. Conegut pel seu enfocament experimental en l’ensenyament i per la seva producció arquitectònica profundament vinculada al dibuix, Hejduk ha generat un ampli corpus documental. No obstant això, la majoria dels estudis existents s’han centrat en les versions finals dels seus projectes, deixant en un segon pla els materials previs i els processos intermedis. A partir dels esbossos originals conservats al Canadian Centre for Architecture i de la seva comparació amb la publicació John Hejduk: 7 Houses (IAUS, 1980), aquest treball proposa reconstruir les diferents fases del procés projectual que van donar lloc a les set vivendes de la sèrie. L’objectiu és identificar les recurrències geomètriques, els desplaçaments programàtics i les decisions formals que configuren una lògica de projecte oberta i evolutiva. La recerca adopta una metodologia qualitativa basada en l’anàlisi gràfica, la interpretació crítica i la comparació entre versions, prestant una atenció especial a la Texas House 1 com a cas paradigmàtic. L’estudi permet no només comprendre la manera en què Hejduk treballava a partir d’estructures reticulars i regles autoimposades, sinó també posar en valor el paper del dibuix com a instrument de pensament arquitectònic. A través d’aquesta lectura, es revela una dimensió poètica i especulativa en els croquis que transcendeix la resolució formal, i es contribueix a enriquir la interpretació historiogràfica i pedagògica de la seva obra primerenca. Com a conclusions, un cop finalitzat aquest treball de recerca, es pot afirmar que, encara que no es disposi de la mateixa quantitat de dibuixos de cada casa, tota la sèrie té una vinculació directa amb la Texas House 1.
