Abstract
Adoptée en 2021, la Loi 79 du Québec autorise la communication de renseignements personnels à des familles autochtones dont les enfants ont disparu ou sont décédés après une admission dans un établissement de santé entre les années 1950 et 1980. Cette législation vise à répondre à la douleur de familles privées d'information pendant des décennies. Cet article présente le contexte historique de cette loi, les données médicales tirées des dossiers traités, le rôle des professionnel·le·s de la santé, et le travail de mémoire mené par l'association autochtone Awacak dans une démarche de vérité, de guérison et de transmission.
