W artykule przedstawiono szczegółową charakterystykę warunków termicznych na obszarze Arktyki Kanadyjskiej w okresie 1951–2005. Do tego celu wykorzystano średnie miesięczne, sezonowe i roczne wartości temperatury powietrza. Omówiono zarówno średnie rozkłady przestrzenne, jak też ich zmienność w badanym okresie czasu. Na podstawie uśrednionych obszarowo wartości temperatury powietrza dla całej Arktyki Kanadyjskiej, dla poszczególnych miesięcy i dla roku, ukazano ich zmienność w okresie 1951-2005 wykorzystując klasyfikację termiczną zaproponowaną przez Miętusa i in. (2002).
