L’idée a été de concevoir un équipement à usage sanitaire et social qui viendra en aide à des personnes faibles à qui la vie n’a pas offert de cadeaux. Nous savons qu’en Algérie les personnes addicts sont généralement traitées dans les services de psychiatrie, on les a toujours considérées comme des personnes mentalement atteintes alors que dans les pays étrangers on traite leurs maladies comme n’importe quelle tout autre maladie et avec des attentions particulières. Toute personne atteinte d’addiction mentale ou comportementale n’est forcément pas dangereuse. Regrouper le traitement des différentes addictions ou dépendances dans un même service se justifie par la très forte concomitance de différentes addictions (un même sujet cumule souvent plusieurs addictions), le partage de la plupart des objectifs thérapeutiques et celui de nombreux outils thérapeutiques. L’objectif général des soins de l’addiction est de permettre à l’individu de retrouver un fonctionnement satisfaisant, sur les plans physique, psychologique et social (y compris dynamisme, intégration professionnelle, bien-être psychologique, qualité des relations familiales et sociales, sexualité, autonomie…), bref de retrouver une qualité de vie. Notre centre a été conçu selon les normes canadiennes fonctionnellement et avec les mêmes types de cure.
