Abstract
Nuestra investigación se divide en dos partes; una teórica donde hablamos de las Islas Baleares de manera general en la época andalusí y otra práctica donde hacemos un análisis de la Isla de Mallorca como paradigma. En la parte teórica que es el primer capítulo, daremos una visión general de la vida de las Islas de Mallorca, Menorca e Ibiza antes y durante la época andalusí. En la parte práctica, tomamos el caso de Mallorca como un objeto de estudio. En este trabajo vamos a centrar nuestro interés sobre la historia de las Islas Baleares y la llegada de las civilizaciones antiguas hasta el período andalusí. Los primeros contactos de los musulmanes con las Baleares datan de inicios del siglo VIII, momento en que las Islas estaban bajo influencia bizantina. En el año 707 se produjo un saqueo, previo a la entrada islámica de 902, dirigido por Abd Allah ibn Musa ibn Nusayr. Desde esta fecha se estableció, presumiblemente, un pacto que conllevaba una relación de tipo fiscal con la población de las islas.
