Klíčová slova (anglicky): Worker colony, Malvazinky, Smíchov, construction, cooperatives Abstract (in English): The bachelor thesis deals with the formation and shaping of the Prague working-class quarter in Malvazinky in the first half of the 20th century. Its main aim is to present the construction of family houses that were created as a result of the housing shortage in Prague. The main builders were building and housing cooperatives and also the Prague municipality. It was mainly an attempt to build cheap but quality housing for a wider segment of the population. The thesis is devoted to a description of the site, an introduction to the building and housing co- operatives and their building activities, and a characterisation of the Prague workforce, which was increasing in number. It uses maps and plans showing the site and plans of the proposed houses to give a complete picture. There was an emergency colony on the site earmarked for development, to which the thesis devotes a chapter. A number of colonists agreed to form their own cooperative, which is also discussed in the thesis. The result of the thesis is a comprehensive presentation of the area of Prague Malvazinky and a comprehensive view of its development in the 1920s.
