Abstract
This thesis deals with the problems associated with the relationship between Romany socially excluded localities and the majority in Slovakia. It shows how the Community Centre Roškovce manages to improve the situation in the village. The author's view is not only a view of a social worker, because the author of this thesis studies the Romistic (Romany studies) at Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Charles University at the same time. She used the knowledge in Romany language and Romany culture; she collected data during observation. Two of the Centre's goals are: 1. to provide services to the whole community in Roškovce, and 2. improving the relationship between the Romany community in Roškovce and the Slovak majority in the neighbourhood.
