Abstract
(in English): The bachelor thesis Reflection of Tales of the Lesser Quarter in the film and by readers studies the life of the Czech writer living in the second half of the 19th century, Jan Neruda, and his prosaic work. The thesis aims to compare the movie adaptations to their written versions. Part of it is a survey containing both open and closed questions which led the author to gain opinions of viewers and readers to the overall works. The answers from the research are complemented with tables and diagrams. Also, the thesis contains a biography of the author and reflections about his life's influence on Tales of the Lesser Quarter.
